Description
Let us celebrate a new generation of entrepreneurs, consumers & investors who are showing the way from Making A Killing to Making a Living. - Slow Money Principle #5
To culminate Food Craft Institute's Quarterly Business Module, Q3 Fundraising & Pitching, FCI & Slow Money Northern California are partnering with The Mixing Bowl to host Food.Fund.Fest – an entrepreneurial pitch competition for producers of quality food held in conjunction with the 2015 Eat Real Festival.
Food.Fund.Fest is an opportunity for students who were enrolled in the Q3 Fundraising & Pitching course to showcase their businesses and compete for a cash prize. Anya Fernald, founder of Food Craft Institute, will host the evening, the highlight being the five minute pitches presented by the following food business owners:
Claude Burns, Noble Brewer
Becky Gessler, Bloom Ready
Sam Gilbert, New Normal Brewing
Bonnie Lau, Yoconut Dairy Free
Lindsey Ott, Mama Tong
After hearing all five presentations, students' business plans will be assessed by a feedback panel who will select the most exciting and inspiring entrepreneurial endeavor. Feedback panelists include:
Leigh Goldstein (COO, Feastly; Slow Money Investor)
Richard Fletcher (Chief Lending Officer, Beneficial State Bank)
Cynthia Maxey (Director of Parterships, Bee Partners; Food Funded)
Harvindar Singh (Forager, Whole Foods Market NorCal)
Sarah Vared (Principal, MissionPoint Capital Partners)
The winning food business owner will be awarded a prize package consisting of $1,500 and a certificate to attend a course administered by the Food Craft Institute. All participating entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to discuss their business with members of the community and potential investors.
Following the competition, attendees and participants are invited to stick around to celebrate the winning business with plenty of food and drink provided by Food Craft Institute alumni businesses. Please join us for an evening of food, fun, and authentic entrepreneurship!
