Event Details

Join us to learn the FOOD FACTS. Our diet is the #1 cause of disease, disability and death in the U.S., yet we are not likely to hear accurate nutritional information from our physicians. When you're eating the "right stuff," your body will function more efficiently, excess weight will drop, and you'll lower your risk (or even reverse) common diseases like Type II diabetes, arthritis, acne, common cancers; even lupus and MS don't stand a chance against plants. One of my most successful students lost 130 pounds and reversed her diabetes in the course of 16 months, eating all the way!

We will view two short videos from Dr. Neal Barnard, founder of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. We'll then demonstrate and sample three quick, easy recipes during our 2-hour class, so come hungry.  This class is ideal for adults/teens who have struggled with weight, high blood pressure, anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes, cancer survivors, and everyone wanting the basics of what a healthy dietary lifestyle really looks like.

ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED to 22, so register early! $45 per person includes heavy sampling, literature to accompany the class topics, life-changing information, and lively discussion!

REGISTRATION DEADLINE is September 8th at 9pm. Invite everyone you know & love who eats.

Food For Life is an award-winning program developed by the physicians, dieticians and nutritionists at The Physicians Committee for Responsbile Medicine (PCRM.org). All information presented is evidence-based fact and not anyone's opinion. Beth Perera is one of just two Food For Life instructors in Vermont. Join us!

Beth Perera

Beth transitioned to a plant-based diet in April 2010 to rid herself of painful arthritic symptoms in her feet. Barely able to get into a pair of shoes, she sought treatment that could make a difference without medication or surgery. She discovered the world of whole-food, plant-based nutrition and within months, her symptoms were nearly gone, and walking, hiking, and even dancing were comfortable again!

Eager to share her discovery with the world, Beth continued her education and received her Plant-Based Nutrition certification from eCornell, Food For Life Cooking Instructor certification from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), Starch-Based Instructor certification through the Dr. John McDougall program, and Women's Health and Food Over Medicine certifications from Dr. Pamela Popper's Wellness Forum Health. In addition to teaching and speaking across the country, Beth was recently hired as Wellness Forum Health's General Manager.

Beth is passionate about helping her students understand and implement easy food choices and simple cooking skills that lead to optimal health. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and her workshops are interactive, fun, and incredibly informative!

What we believe "runs in our family" is likely not the disease, but the diet. Change your diet and change your health future and that of your family! JOIN US!
