Every year, HDI sponsors an event to recognize the brightest stars in technical support. Whether it's traditional IT support or desktop support technicians, HDI encourages employers to nominate their star performers as an acknowledgement of their valuable contributions and the chance of this being recognized at the national level.
Individuals nominated are screened by a panel and are considered for one winning slot as either Analyst or Desktop Support Technician of the Year for the chapter. Those who are selected go on to compete at the Region level and (potentially) the National level at the HDI Annual Conference.

Dana Olson brings nearly thirty years of experience from various support industry roles in diverse environments including education, insurance, telecommunication, commodity management and managed services. She has thirteen years as an active practitioner managing service desks and owned consulting firm focused on Service Desk and Customer Relationship Management. Other roles include teacher, trainer and process manager.
Dana acquired her knowledge through experience and continued education. In 2005, she became interested in the ITIL processes and has her ITIL Expert v3 certification. In 2010, she was certified as a Kepner-Tregoe Program Leader.
As an active HDI member since 2005, she has served as a Nebraska Chapter Officer, Central Regional Director, and Member Advisory Board Chair.
