Description

Food 4 Thought: Searching for Shabbat

Tuesday, February 12 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM

Shabbat is the most important of all the Jewish holidays, a cornerstone of Jewish practice, and perhaps our greatest gift to the world. And yet, how many of us have developed a weekly practice or feel that we regularly find a sense of Shabbat rest, renewal, joy, and spiritual connection?

Join Cantor Leider on a journey of personal exploration of Shabbat as a “sanctuary in time” through discussion, text study, song and meditative visualization. We’ll explore themes of Shabbat from ancient and contemporary perspectives. As part of the TRS Rodef Reads initiative, we’ll look at some of the ideas that are found in Abigail Pogrebin’s book - My Jewish Year: 18 Jewish Holidays and One Wondering Jew. Come and find your Shabbat!
