Description

Food 4 Thought: A Cantor of Many Hats

Tuesday, April 4 at 10:00 AM

If you don’t see Cantor Shochet on the bimah, you may see him riding in a police car in the McLean area, working side by side with Fairfax County Police Officers. At our April 4 Food for Thought program, come hear about the different hats that Cantor Shochet wears. As a former police officer, Cantor Shochet serves as the Chaplain for the Fairfax County Police, the CIA and runs a community chaplain program for the county. He teaches about spirituality in law enforcement at the Police Academy as well as how to make a death notification. Cantor Shochet will share some of the work he does with police officers as well as his background as to why this volunteer work is so meaningful to him.
