Event description
Fomu is a tiny FPGA development board that fits inside your USB port and supports RISC-V. We'll learn to use it!

About this Event

As a follow up to the RISC-V workshop in April this year, I'm hosting another one! This time with Fomu, an FPGA board that fits in your USB port. Over the summer I attended a workshop run by Tim Ansell and Sean 'xobs' Cross, where they explained how to get started with RISC-V, running python on the device and wishbone bus. I will endeavour to teach you how to do the same things!

The workshop will take a couple of hours and will be held in the CERN Micro Club Clubhouse. Attendance at the previous RISC-V workshop is NOT a required for you to enjoy this one.

A free development Fomu board will be given to every participant who successfully installs the toolchain! (please do this before the workshop - the first activity for each attendee will be a toolchain demo)

You will need to bring:

Yourself, your computer (Windows, Mac and Linux all welcome), possibly your laptop power adapter. If your computer doesn't have any A type USB ports (the big square ones) then you will also need a way to plug in an 'old fashioned' USB connector - Mac owners beware!
