Jeremy will explore the kinds of records available for researching ancestors in England and Wales from 1837, when civil registration began, to the outbreak of World War Two.



Jeremy Frankel is a professional genealogist engaged in research for almost 30 years. His skills include expertise with internet resources and the specialized Bay Area archives and libraries which contain worldwide information. President of the San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Genealogical Society for the last sixteen years, he has lectured throughout the S.F. Bay Area and regularly helps clients who have encountered impasses in their research.




Pre-registration is required. 

CGS members enjoy reduced admission fee $10.00*.

Non-member admission fee is $20.00* and can be applied towards a new one-year CGS membership the day of the class.

Register early to confirm your seat. Walk-ins will not be admitted.

CGS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The library is conveniently located in Uptown Oakland, one block north of the Paramount Theatre, at 2201 Broadway, Suite LL2. We are three blocks from the 19th Street BART Station.
