Event description
Join us as we discuss storytelling and folklore in ancient Mesopotamia, modern Assyrian communities, and present-day media.

About this event

Folklore means different things to different people, from stories and songs to crafts and cuisine, but what these all have in common is that they are traditions shared within a community. These traditions tell us who we are, beyond the passports we carry or the borders that keep us in or out; they constitute our cultural identities. Join us as we discuss storytelling and folklore in ancient Mesopotamia, modern Assyrian communities, and present-day books, podcasts, and creative content with guests Professor Sargon Donabed and Alexina Shaber.
