FOCUS: What key trends will reshape UK higher education in the next decade?
Universities in this country will face profound headwinds of change in the coming decades.
Against the backdrop of globalisation, intensifying competition for funding and talented staff and students, and rising expectations in relation to student experience and economic and societal impact, universities need to think critically about how they can best move with the times and leverage their strengths.
The President and Principal of King’s College London, Professor Ed Byrne, is delighted to invite you to the inaugural event of the Future Opportunities and Challenges for Universities Series (FOCUS). FOCUS will provide a platform for sector leaders and policymakers to share their perspectives on the key medium to long term issues facing the universities both domestically and globally.
On 31st October, two visiting Professors in the Policy Institute at King’s, the Rt Hon Professor Charles Clarke, a former Secretary of State for Education in the Blair Government, and the Rt Hon Lord Willetts, a former minister of State for Universities and Science under David Cameron, will share their thoughts on key trends are set to reshape the UK higher education sector in the next decade and how universities can most effectively respond.
