Focus Group: NHS Healthy Start Scheme

Bedford Borough Council need your help! We’re running a 1 hour group discussion to find better ways to tell more people about the NHS Healthy Start scheme. We’d love to know what you think.

What is the NHS ‘Healthy Start’ scheme?

It’s a scheme from the NHS that helps families buy healthy food and milk. If you qualify, you get a card with money added every week to buy healthy food and milk. You can also get free vitamins.

NHS Healthy Start is for:

· People who are pregnant (from 10 weeks)

· Parents/carers of children under 4 years.

· Families who earn £408 or less each month from work

· Families who get certain benefits

If you are already using Healthy Start or if you think you might qualify (based on the list above) we need your help!

Why should I attend a group discussion about Healthy Start?

· Share your thoughts with the council

· Help us to tell more families about this support
