Learn American Indian Hoop Dance and help Marie Poncé train for the National Hoop Dance contest. Native American Hoop Dance, Rhythm, Song with Hoop Dance Marie Ponce member of the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers in NYC parks and playgrounds on Saturdays starting September 16 at 9-11am at the basketball court on 130th and St Nicholas Terrace at the top of the stairs and Tuesdays starting September 19 4:00-5:30pm at playground on 133rd St between Adam Clayton Powell and Frederick Douglass Blvd Harlem, NYC Bring workout clothing. Hoops to dance with are provided. Class limited to 15 active participants. openartistnyc@gmail.com

Seven Hoops come alive, forming story animals, characters. One shape to the next, dancers become one with hoops. Marie Poncé's (Taino/Cherokee) member of the Thunderbird Americn Indian Dancers taught and mentored by Louis Mofsie company director. American Indian Hoop Dance from Taos New Mexico creates and animates a universally recognizable movement language into stories. Body, skill and mind are strengthened by Chinese Kung Fu and Tai Chi breathing and physical exercises taught to Marie by Master Lu Dian Wah, Beijing, China.
