Join me on Superbowl Sunday February 7th at 2:30pm for a 45 minute charity ride to support my 2016 Boston Marathon Fundraising! All proceeds will go to support Boston Medical Center and Team BMC. Help me fill 50 bikes for the 50th SuperBowl – a great excuse to get your workout in and help justify all of the indulgences in football festivities that night! The class will be taught by Flywheel instructor Melinda - a marathoner herself!
About This Event
Tickets are $35 and include a 45 minute spin class (party on a bike), a raffle entry for cool prizes (think country concert tickets, Team BMC fan packs, vineyard vine bags, etc), and post-spin champagne! Every ride is a race set to phenomenal playlists at Flywheel Sports and with stadium-style seating and modern technology you won’t miss a beat! The ride is open to anyone, so feel free to invite your friends, roommates, family, and coworkers. First time Flywheel riders will be credited with a free class in their account to use at a later date! New to spin? Flywheel is beginner friendly so come anyway! Once you are signed up on eventbrite you will need to create an account on http://flywhl.me/cdhq. You do not need to do anything else but create an account. Experienced fly-ers? I can accomodate specific seat assignments so let me know!
Additional raffle tickets and Team BMC tshirts can be purchased at the studio that day with cash or credit.
If you cannot attend but would still like to pledge your support for Team BMC OR you would like to pledge support beyond the cost of entry, you can do so by visiting my personal fundraising page here: https://www.crowdrise.com/BMCBoston2016/fundraiser/kelliodonohue
** In need of a tax receipt? Please let me know BEFORE purchasing your ticket through eventbrite. There is a different way to process that will allow for this but cannot be done retroactively. Similarly, if using a Fidelity Charitable account please let me know and I can accommodate your ticket purchase offline**
About The Cause
Understanding that trauma does not discriminate and anyone may need services in a moment’s time, Team BMC stands committed to ensuring Boston Medical Center remains one of the very best trauma centers in the country. By donating to Team BMC you are showing your commitment to the entire city of Boston.
The exceptional care, without exception, that BMC provides EVERY day of the year, inspired me to run my second Boston Marathon in appreciation for their world-class care.
Over the last couple of years, I have become passionate about the innovative and difficult work done by Boston Medical Center. I learned how BMC addresses the complex range of medical, social, economic and emotional factors that affect the health of people throughout our community, I saw firsthand BMC’s Massachusetts Resiliency Center hard at work with victims reliving their trauma during the Marathon trial, and I heard from more and more patients how BMC was there for them during the worst of situations. With 75% of the hospital’s patients representing underserved populations, every dollar makes a difference and I am committed to raising $10,000 for the Boston Medical Center and running strong with the city I am proud to call home.
What should I bring with me?
Bring workout clothing, athletic socks, and your excitement! Spin shoes and towels are complimentary and I will provide water bottles for all riders. Register and bring a friend! The Flywheel experience is a lot more fun when the bikes are full and the energy is high.
How do I get there?
Flywheel Sports is located in the Belvedere Arcade section of the "PRU" (Prudential Center for you non-Bostonians), and it is directly accessible from the E train of the green line which exits right into the Prudential Center. Coming from Southie like me? Use the 9 bus! If you plan to drive, there are parking garages nearby if you are unable to find street parking (free on Sunday). Please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the class to get set up with bike shoes, make friends, and get acquainted with bike set-up.
You can reach out to Kelli directly! Do not contact the studio, they are unable to assist with registration. email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
