Event description

Description

Join me for a day of stillness, enquiry and illumination....and almost certainly some play, fun and laughter! Be with like-minded people, committed to their own exploration and supporting you in yours. Together, we'll create a small, confidential oasis amidst the chaos of the working week - dropping down into deep reflection and collaboration before the weekend.

Are you looking for a deep dive into a question, a puzzle or an issue that is fundamental to you right now? Wondering about your direction for this year? Intrigued about your part in a relationship, a business or the world? Searching for light where there is darkness or confusion?

Join me in a Flow Game – a powerful process of internal reflection and shared enquiry - to ground, strengthen, bring clarity and flow, to people - in life, leadership and actions.

Our world needs to be refreshed - something new.

Old ways of thinking, talking, leading and working are failing in increasingly evident ways.

Many of us feel the call to be more and do something different but are unsure what that new something might be.

The Flow Game uses the Medicine Wheel in a simplified form as a structure; wisdom drawn from First Nations people (Native American Indians). It is a non-linear flow through four dimensions of personal leadership:

  1. vision and the bigger context;
  2. leadership, courage, breaking new ground and coming back;
  3. meaningful action;
  4. community – connection, engagement, alignment with comm(on)unity.

Additionally, invitation to enquiry is brought through the spiritual dimension and through the ground, the foundation on which we stand.

Participants flow along rivers, gaining personal insights and harnessing collective wisdom in service of their question.

The Flow Game is a gentle, yet powerful, crucible for personal and collective growth.

Flow is easiest in the ‘chaordic’ field, a dynamic balancing between chaos (enough to stimulate and provoke) and order (enough to give sound boundaries and coordinates). This is where the creative and the new is born. It takes courage to enter that chaordic space as a player, or as a host, and endure uncertainty before a new insight or resting place. Are you ready to step in?

Practicalities: Minimum 4 players - Maximum 6 players

About Jo Birch

I love this game! It's a very simple holding structure though which personal reflection can find order - and through which group members connect deeply with each other. I've learned to host the game through my work with Toke Moeller and the Art of Hosting Community: an intentional group of people across the world working for peace, collaboration, greater understanding and a better world - linking with young (and old) innovators in social change, universities and communities, governments and local leaders.

I'm passionate about playing my part in creating a just world and this thread runs through my work and career from my early days. I am a senior Executive Coach; supervisor of coaches, supervisors; trainers, leaders, counsellors & psychotherapists and I continue to run a busy psychotherapy practice. I work with senior people in their field across the globe, and face-to-face in Edinburgh, London and Manchester. As Director of CSA and ICRP I contribute to the growth and development of the Diploma in Coaching Supervision across the world and the innovative programme of CPD, research and events offered to coaches and leaders. I am Programme Leader of the UK Diploma; and Director of CSA Asia Pacific along with my colleague Leanne Lowish.

I'm committed to contributing to the coaching profession and do so through a number of key voluntary roles within the Association for Coaching, Global Supervisors Network, and previously BACP Coaching (Chair 2012-2014).

Outside of the coaching field I am a Trustee for Patient's Advocacy Service in a maximum security hospital; and a Board member on a Community Interest Company providing adventurous activities for disadvantaged children and families.

Come! Join me!
