Event description

Join us at the Florida GovCon Summit on February 28th and March 1st in Orlando!

This years' theme is Strategies to Scale Your Federal Contracting Business

The goal of the Florida GovCon Summit is to identify and develop second-stage federal contractors who are ready to scale their businesses, either as preferred teammates and subcontractors, or by winning and executing prime contracts with other teammates.

With the All Small Mentor-Protégé program, there are more opportunities than ever before for federal contractors to team and succeed, by:

  • combining their past performance credentials

  • creating joint ventures to reduce risks

  • staying within size standards for their NAICs codes

  • improving cash flow and ROI, and providing better financing options

Strategies to Scale your Federal Contracting Business also requires that you:

  • get your systems and processes down and documented
  • build out your organization with government contracting experts in contracts, HR, finance and accounting, business development, capture and proposals, and program mangement
  • develop integrated systems for your employees and teams to collaborate
  • meet increasing complliance and requirement standards specific to federal contracting and your core competencies
  • focus on efficiency to bring costs down so you are more competitive and more productive

Conversations will include:

Thought leaders in the growth industries across Florida, from:

  • cyber security
  • advanced IT services and communications
  • intelligence and mission support
  • modeling, simulation and training
  • machine intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality
  • geospatial information systems
  • biometrics and identifcation
  • aerospace
  • unmanned systems

Federal contracting is more competitive than ever, and it's so hard to keep up with upcoming opportunities, agency updates, regulations, funding and RFP changes. Having a network to keep up with the changes is critical. Subject matter experts in federal contracting discussing latest trends in...

Joint Ventures, Pricing and Compliance, Exit Strategies, BD/Capture Strategy, HR (FLSA, SCA, ACA, 401K), Clearances, Contracting Topics, Branding, , etc.

For small businesses, there are so many hurdles to overcome, just to comply with regulations and develop infrastructure, just to be prepared to bid - much less to win and execute the work. We'll be discussing best practices among federal contractors, to share lessons learned from a peer alliance network supported by subject matter experts in federal contracting.

We're also hosting Match Making sessions for small businesses to meet with prime contractors and each other, and also Dream Team sessions for vision board and strategy sessions with subject matter experts discussing legal, financial, risk management, human resources, contracting, banking and related topics.

Supporting our veteran community is a high priority, with many resources available. There is a big gap between job searchers being advised "just apply on our website" and employers who are trying to find talent. There is lots of "noise" but not enough action. We're bringing together key leaders to share information about programs for veterans, plus advice from veterans who have transitioned successfully to new careers, information about veteran hiring programs at area employers. We'll also have LinkedIn training showing you how to use the powerful Advanced Search features of LinkedIn, whether you are a job seeker or an employer using LinkedIn for recruiting.

We are adding a Photographer booth to take pictures for transitioning veterans for LinkedIn. You can get your photo updated at this event too.

Keith Hoffert of Business Radio-X will be there again this year. We'll be adding a link so you can join the show. Get more exposure for your company by being on the air with Keith, and sending links to the show out afterwards.

Let's make it Fun, Interactive and Productive:

  • Format says "panels" but we're setting speakers at the top - to quickly introduce their top tips - then moving to smaller breakout tables for more discussion.
  • Teaming Talks - identify your NAICs codes, your target areas, your socio-economic statuses, your past performance - and let's share that information so you can have some teaming discussions.
  • This is NOT the same old conference - we're looking for your ideas how to make the best use of your time.
  • Contact Listing in excel format - will be provided to all attendees after the event.

Focused exclusively on small business strategies for the federal marketplace, Florida GovCon Summit will broaden your thinking and provide actionable insights. Just as important as discussions with the thought leaders in attendance will be the opportunity to pursue these and other issues with your peers—fellow defense and aerospace contractors from companies with $500K to to $30 million in Revenue.

You're NOT A STARTUP, and you don't want to hear the same old stuff: You've got active subcontracts, you've set up teaming agreements and even part of the way through Joint Ventures, Mentor-Protege and GSA Schedules. You've got great past performance and you're building your pipeline. You've got most of your infrastructure in place. But every time you get past one obstacle, you find out about another one! You're especially worried about being locked out of the market because you can't get on the right contract vehicle! And all this is costing so much time and money. We're determined to help you find the answers you need so you can walk away with an action plan and a broader range of teammates and opportunities.

Don’t miss out – space is limited.
