Welcome to the Floresta Rare Plant Market!

The Aroid Society of Australia is proud to present Floresta de Tropical (translating to “rainforest” in Portugese), a plant fair celebrating the beauty of tropical foliage and all the people who love them.

This will be a must for all plant collectors, novice and experienced alike, with an amazing array of growers from all over Australia selling rare and unusual plants, talented botanical artists, gourmet food, incredible workshops and informative talks.

Check out who's coming here

Housed over two days in the historic Coburg Town Hall, close to vibrant Sydney Road, Pentridge Precinct and public transport, you won’t want to miss this party.

Frequently asked questions

Will tickets be available at the door?

Absolutely, but to get express entry, we recommend pre-purchasing your tickets.

I notice there is a free ticket option. How do I get free entry?

Free entry is available to all current financial members of the Aroid Society of Australia. Members get entry 15 minutes prior to general admission, as well as the option to sell plants at the ASA stall at Floresta. You can find out more about the advantages of membership www.aroids.net/membership

I'd like to attend both days, do you have a discounted ticket for the whole weekend?

As we are a not-for-profit, we have priced our door entry very low at $5 and are unable to offer a discounted weekend pass. Also, Eventbrite can't do that. But we promise you'll have a great weekend if you come on both days.

Will there be food and drinks available?

We will have 2 food trucks (including vegan options), a coffee cart and a baked goods vendor to keep you happily fed and watered. You'll never want to leave!

How do I get to the venue? Is there on-site parking?

Coburg Town Hall is close to public transport. While there is no on-site parking, there is plenty of street parking in the streets behind the venue, at the Coburg Leisure Centre across Bell St, or in the undercover parking at the nearby Pentridge Precinct.

Do you have somewhere I can put my plants while I keep enjoying the festivities?

Yes! There will be plant Minding available at the ASA stall for a gold coin donation.

What else will there be to do other than shop for plants?

We will have incredible workshops and free talks from industry experts. There will also be plenty of botanical artists attending if you've run out of space in your house with good lighting. Awkward Portraits will also be available to take a professional photo of you with your new plant pal!

I'd like to attend a workshop, how do I secure a place?

Workshop tickets can be purchased when you secure your entry tickets by scrolling down.

Is this event accessible?

Absolutely. Coburg Town Hall is fully accessible, and we maintain a 3m walkway between stalls.
