Flo Roach, Ettaro Theater Company
President and founder of Ettaro Theater Company and Ettaro Fine Arts Foundation, Florence Roach is a producer, director, writer, comedienne, and actress who is well-known for the many hats that she wears as a key part of the MBCC UMOJA production. She opened the company in 2007 and finally wrote and produced her one-woman show, CALLING ALL MEN, in 2011. Followed by her highly successful hit -- BLACK SOAP, BLACK SOAP II and BLACK SOAP III in 2013. A new season and new storyline began in May 2014 with BLACK SOAP IV.
Flo Roach's film credits include Steven Spielberg’s award-winning movie, THE HELP, as well as BLACK SNAKE MOAN, RISE UP, CHAPTERS, 100 LIVES, and SEPARATED BY MURDER. In 2012, she served as producer for Dwayne Hunt’s play, GOSPEL ACCORDING TO SOUL. She won the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's Shining Star Award in January 2013.
