The New York City Charter Revision Commission will be hosting a series of public education forums in each of the five boroughs to help inform New Yorkers about the three questions that will appear on their ballots in the November 6th, 2018 general election. These issues are Campaign Finance, Civic Engagement and Community Boards.
You are invited to attend these events and share this information with your fellow New Yorkers.
The Commission has also launched a new website, FlipYourBallot.nyc, where New Yorkers can learn more about the ballot questions and help share educational information with their friends and families. The website also allows New Yorkers to sign up to volunteer to assist with the Commission’s educational efforts.
Time permitting, forum attendees will be able to ask questions. New Yorkers may also submit questions for each public education forums in advance at comments@charter.nyc.gov. With each submission, please send your full name and the specific forum and date for which your question is directed.
The Town Hall locations are accessible to individuals using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Induction loop systems, ASL interpreters, and Spanish interpreters will be available. In addition, with advance notice, members of the public may request other language interpreters. Please make language interpretation requests or additional accessibility requests two business days in advance of the meeting by emailing the Commission at requests@charter.nyc.gov or calling 212-386-5350.
