Author Dana Eagle in Conversation with Katherine Murphy - How to Be Depressed: A Guide
Dana Eagle has been seen on NBC's Last Comic Standing, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central, and Comics Unleashed. She has taken several trips overseas to perform for the troops in Iraq. In 2017, Dana's book, How To Be Depressed: A Guide hit the shelf and in 2018 it was released in four languages. The book offers a mix of tongue-in-cheek advice, wry self-help wisdom, and "therapeutic" activities like a bad poetry generator. If you re looking for a hilarious and hilariously honest perspective from someone who has dealt with depression, Eagle's How to Be Depressed provides a frank and funny perspective. Book signing will follow the discussion. Event made possible by Faulk Center for Counseling and NAMI Palm Beach County.

Dave Barry has been a professional humorist ever since he discovered that professional humor was a lot easier than working.

For many years he wrote a newspaper column that appeared in more than 500 newspapers and generated thousands of letters from readers who thought he should be fired. Despite this, Barry won the Pulitzer Prize for commentary, although he misplaced it for several years, which is why his wife now keeps it in a secure location that he does not know about. One of Barry's columns was largely responsible for the movement to observe International Talk Like a Pirate Day every year on September 19. This is probably his most enduring achievement.

Barry has written more than 30 books, including the novels Big Trouble, Lunatics, Tricky Business, and Insane City. He has also written a number of books with titles like I'll Mature When I'm Dead, which are technically classified as nonfiction, although they contain numerous lies. Two of Barry's books were the basis for the CBS sitcom Dave's World, which can probably still be seen on cable TV in certain underdeveloped nations.

In his 2019 book Lessons From Lucy, Barry learns how to age happily from his old but joyful dog, Lucy.

Dave's latest book A Field Guide to the Jewish People is due out in September 2019. The last book on Judaism you will ever have to buy, this hilarious tome from three comedy legends contains the sweetness of an apricot rugelach and all the wisdom of a matzoh ball. Why do random Jewish holidays keep springing up unexpectedly? Why are yarmulkes round? Who was the first Jewish comedian? These baffling questions and many more are answered by the comedic powerhouse trio of Dave Barry, Adam Mansbach, and Alan Zweibel. In A Field Guide to the Jewish People the authors dissect every holiday, rite of passage, and tradition, unravel a long and complicated history, and tackle the tough questions that have been plaguing the long-suffering Jewish people everywhere for centuries. So gather round your chosen ones, pop open a bottle of Manischewitz, and get ready to laugh as you finally begin to understand the inner-workings of Judaism.

Phil’s style can best be described as unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke-telling.

Phil has previously been seen on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, The Pete Holmes Show, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, and @midnight.
