This is a FREE community event! Open to the public.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—In honor of Flag Day on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, VetLinx will hold a special presentation at 12:00 PM at Fort Negley Park. This year marks the 245th anniversary of the adoption of the flag of the United States by the Second Continental Congress. VetLinx will also celebrate the 247th U.S. Army Birthday on this day! Family friendly event, open to the community!

During the secession crisis in 1861, Captain William Driver’s famed Old Glory, now preserved by the Smithsonian Institute, waved defiantly above his Nashville residence. Following the invasion of the city by Federal troops in February 1862, Old Glory briefly donned the Tennessee State Capitol.

Historic Fort Negley Park is located at 1100 Fort Negley Boulevard just minutes from downtown Nashville. The park features the remains of the nation’s largest inland masonry fortification, interpretive panels, a visitors center, and ample green space for picnicking.

VetLinx is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is a community partnership of major Fraternal Organizations, the VA, other Veteran-related service providers, and other citizens in the community with the passion to serve those who served.
