Event description
Join the Mr.& Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library, U.G. of Wyandotte County, BPU and Operation Wildlife as we celebrate our 20th Eagle Days!

About this event

In accordance with U.S.D. 500, Unified Government of Wyandotte County and the CDC, the 20th Eagle Days at the Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library will require advance registration to view the live birds of prey on display from Operation Wildlife Rehab Center in partnership with the Board of Public Utilities.

**Masks are required for all patrons, ages 5 and up inside the buildings at all times**

Instead of the traditional 1-hour formal presentation, we will be offering 15-minute live bird viewing with species such as owls, hawks and of course, a bald eagle. As usual, the event will run from 9am-5pm on Saturday, Jan. 15th and 12-4pm on Sunday, Jan 16th.

Each guest in attendance will need a free ticket to view the live birds at both Schlagle library and James P. Davis Hall. This ticket will ensure a 15-minute time slot to take pictures, ask questions and enjoy the presence of birds of prey indoors.

There will be viewing options at both locations simultaneously. We encourage visitors to reserve viewing times at both buildings because there will be different bird species in both locations.

If you arrive without a reservation ticket, you must wait until there is vacancy. While you wait, there will be crafts, wild bird spotting stations and other outdoor activities available.

You may re-enter the live bird viewing area more than once during the event as long as there are spots open.

It is imperative for safety of all that patrons reserve their tickets in advance and arrive early to their the scheduled time. Not only will this ensure a spot for you and your group, but it will also allow the day’s activities to stay on schedule for the benefit of all.

For help registering or questions about the event, please call the Schlagle Library at 913-295-8250 opt 2 or email us at flsinfo@kckpl.org .
