Event description

Description

Fixin' the Felines is a low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic for CATS ONLY, it is not restricted to area or financial status; however people who can afford to have their cats fixed elsewhere are encouraged to do so and allow others in more need to register as this is a very limited clinic. Each cat will receive a 1 year rabies vaccine as well as a FVRCP vaccine, and pain/antibiotic shot while undergoing surgery. Cats must be fasted the night before after 10pm and must arrive promptly in a carrier with towel/blanket at the designated time. Everyone will receive either an email two days prior to direct them on what time to arrive that morning, pick up will be the same day and the owner will be called when pick-up is available. .

FAQs

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

We can be contacted by email at Forgottenfelines40701@gmail.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/forgottenfelines40701. Any calls made to the Corbin Animal Clinic regarding Fixin' the Felines will NOT be accepted.

What's the refund policy?

There is no refund policy, if you miss your appointment, arrangements will be made to have your cat scheduled for another clinic, after two missed appointments your registration is voided and payment is lost.

Is there an age limit or weight limit?

Yes, cats must weigh at least 2lbs and be at least 3 months old. Anesthesia is very risky for anything younger or smaller than this. Cats that are over 7 years of age are recommended to have a blood panel done prior to anesthesia, however you are not required to do so, the additional bloodwork is $50.00.

When will I pick up my cat?

We will call you for same day pickup, please make sure that we have a current and readily available number to contact you typically by 4pm at the latest. Any cats that are not picked up will be charged boarding by the Corbin Animal Clinic at $12 per night and will be paid to the Clinic on pickup.

Does my cat need to be in a carrier?

Yes, all cats are required to be confined in a carrier, with a blanket/towel or some sort of padding. More than one cat can be placed in a carrier as long as there is adequate space to lay comfortably.

Will there be additional services?

Yes, Nail trims, ear cleaning, flea meds, Combo testing and the leukemia vaccine will all be available for additional charges for cats scheduled to have surgery.

Will my cat have stitches that need to be removed?

No, there will not be any sutures that need to be removed. You will need to check your cats incision daily for at least 10 days for properly healing, if any redness or swelling is observed please contact your veterinarian.

What are the after-care instructions for my cat?

Each cat will be discharged with a sheet describing after care instructions. Cats need to be kept confined for the night in a warm area. Some cats, especially female may leave slightly sedated, those cats should be fully recovered by the next morning if they are not you will need to seek medical attention. There is always a risk to anesthesia/surgery, if you feel your cat isn’t recovering properly it is your responsibility to seek out medical attention.
