Event description

Description

There's more to fixing a flat than just sticking in a new tube and pumping it up - though even that can be intimidating. Our hands-on Fix-a-Flat course will provide a comprehensive course on dealing with flats, including causes and preventions, best-practices, and relevant tire and tube technology.

Paid registration also includes a set of tire levers, a patch kit, and all the tubes you patch during the course. And all of our bicycle mechanics classes end with a guided experience working on your own bike!

NEW! Complete five Yellow Bike adult education courses and come build a bicycle out of donated frames and parts at Austin's Yellow Bike Project! Ask your instructors for more information and a card to track your progress.

What you'll learn:

  • How to patch a tube

  • Proper wheel re-installation on different bicycle and dropout styles

  • Emergency tactics for dealing with flats and blow-outs

Requirements:

  • $25 paid at least 24 hours in advance
