Viviana Risca is an Assistant Professor and head of the Laboratory of Genome Architecture and Dynamics at The Rockefeller University. She and her laboratory study how the three-dimensional organization of chromatin in the eukaryotic nucleus reflects and regulates DNA-based processes, with an emphasis on mechanisms of transcriptional regulation. Dr. Risca received her Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley and then went on to develop new technology for mapping sub-kilobase-scale chromatin folding as a postdoctoral scholar in the Genetics and Biochemistry Departments at Stanford University.
