Event description

Description

The American Alliance of Museums has designated five core documents that all museums need for effective operation and adherence to professional standards in the museum field. These fundamental documents provide guidelines for preserving artifacts for future generations, educating and engaging with the community, and ensuring the growth and stability of your institution. This workshop will address each of the five documents in a panel-style format followed by a Q&A session and discussions in small groups. Lunch is provided, and an optional tour of the WVU Art Museum will be held at the end of the workshop.

Five experienced museum professionals will serve on the panel, answer your questions, and guide discussion groups on each of the documents:

-Al Najjar, Director, The Clay Center, Charleston, WV
-Judith O'Toole, Director, Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg, PA
