Event description

Description

In partnership with the SPFL Trust, we have delivered the popular Football Fans in Training (FFIT) programme now for over seven years.

Over this time it’s proved to be really popular with men who want to get fitter, lose some weight and feel better, doing a programme alongside other men like them. Not only this, but FFIT has been shown to be one of the most successful programmes for men, not just in Scotland, but around the world not least because men have found that it’s a great chance for them to get ‘behind the scenes’ at their favourite club!

This year, our partners at the Universities of Stirling, Glasgow and Bristol have been developing new ideas which they hope will make taking part in FFIT a great way for men who are fathers to get even more out of the programme. This new addition is aimed at men who are fathers – or father-figures – to kids aged 7-11 years. Our University partners have developed a four week programme – for fathers and their kids to take part in together. It will follow on from the FFIT programme, giving men a chance to inspire their kids to also get more active, cut down on junk food and cut down on screen time – whilst having fun together at the club.

The next FFIT course is aimed specifically at men aged 25-65, who have a BMI of 30+ and who are actively involved in looking after kids in their family aged 7-11 years. The course is a must for those who want to get fit, lose weight and become healthier. Their kids will then be invited to join them for the new 4-week dads and kids programme at the end of FFIT.

This course will run for an initial 13 weeks on Monday evenings, 6:00-7:30pm from 25 February 2019 at Tynecastle Park with a limited number of places available. Kids will join in for an additional 4 weeks afterwards

Participants will receive their very own training top and will work closely with fitness expert Alan Gray. During this time they will take part in part in physical exercise and will also learn about weight management, diet, healthy eating and alcohol awareness amongst other key topics such as portion sizes, alcohol, motivation and step counting.

These sessions are designed to be enjoyable as well as being very informative.

Remember these sessions are FREE thanks to SPFL funding.
