Event description

Description

This course is identical to others offered by WDFW, but exclusively for WCTU members. If you're not a member, or your membership has expired, please use this link to update your membership: www.tu.org/intro to purchase/renew your membership or call toll-free 1-800-834-2419, 6:00a-4:00p. New memberships start at just $17.50!

Training will take place on Thursday, September 26th, beginning at 9 am and go to 5 pm. This introductory course provides an overview of the culvert assessment methods described in WDFW's 2019 Fish Passage Inventory, Assessment, and Prioritization Manual. Learning will occur through active participation in the classroom (AM – Watershed Science Center at the Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH): 125 W Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027) and in the field (PM – TBD).

Note: This technical training course uses protocols for barrier assessments of existing in-stream structures and does not cover design or permitting topics.

Coffee/tea and pastries will be provided in the morning, but please pack a sack lunch and prepare for the weather as we will head into the field and practice the assessment techniques on a culvert. Please dress appropriately for the weather with proper footwear and rain gear if necessary.

Space is limited to 30 participants, but we will keep a waitlist if the class fills up, and may provide open an additional day if training if necessary.
