Welcome Future Nighthawks!

During the New Student Orientation, NLC will share the following to ensure you are prepared and successful in the upcoming school year:

  • Overview of Northeast Lakeview College and Alamo Colleges District

  • Increase Awareness of Student Services

  • Understand Classroom Rigor and Expectations

  • Understand College Level Placement (Group Advising Card overview)

  • Hands on Registration

  • Opportunity to meet with representative(s) from the Business Office, Admissions & Records, and Financial Aid


It is highly recommended that you complete or in process to complete all steps on the enrollment checklist prior to attending NSO. Completion of all enrollment requirements will clear the path for registration which will take place during the second part of NSO.


Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Am I required to attend New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation is required for all first time in college students and transfer students with less than 15 credit hours (transferrable).

  • Do I need to stay the entire day from 8:30am-5pm?

Yes! Students are required to be present for the full NSO to be cleared for registration. Plan to be on campus from 8:30am-5pm.

  • What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The campus has open parking. Lots 4 and 5 are closest to the Student Commons Building.

  • Can I reschedule my NSO registration?

Yes! If you need to change dates, log back in to cancel current registration and select another date and time that works best for your schedule. If you experience difficulties processing, please see contact information below for the Recruitment team.

  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It's helpful, but not mandatory.

  • Can I still come to New Student Orientation (NSO) if I haven't completed my Enrollment Checklist?

Yes! New Student Orientation (NSO) is for all incoming students who have earned less than 15 college credit hours. However, we recommend you complete all required steps on the enrollment checklist. Students who have completed the enrollment and placement requirements will register for class(es) during the second part of NSO.

  • What items should I bring with me the day of NSO?

Please bring a valid photo ID and any remaining documents that you may need to submit for processing (i.e. official transcript, official test scores, bacterial meningitis documentation (if applicable), supporting residency documentation).
