Event description

Description

Heurich House Museum is teaming up with prolific beer writer, Phil Runco of Brightest Young Things, to present a series of events and interviews with local brewers and beer professionals, giving you an inside peek at some of the area's favorite brews at the home of German immigrant and brewmaster Christian Heurich. On October 11th, we’re kicking off the series with Ocelot Brewing Co.’s founder and owner Adrien Widman. Phil and Adrien will discuss the small craft brewery’s constantly rotating IPAs, lagers, mixed fermentation, and barrel aged beers.

In Phil's words, Adrien "operates his brewery in a manner that, above all, channels to his own tastes and preferences. Rather than produce steady and reliable “flagships,” he and head brewer Jack Snyder have simply made the beers that they want to drink, a constantly moving target that in the course of three-and-a-half years has translated to 102 unique IPAs alone.” From week to week, the brewery features new creations on tap, all named after song lyrics from some of their favorite artists. Phil shares, “The closest thing that Ocelot has to a “core beer” is an unfiltered, hoppy pilsner called Sunnyside Dweller. A gold medal winner at the 2016 Great American Beer Festival, it’s now produced five times a year.

After the discussion, guests will be welcome to explore the home of Christian Heurich while enjoying beers from Ocelot Brewing Co.. All tickets include 1 beer ticket, but don't worry, the Ocelot bar will be open until the event is over for purchasing additional beers!
