*Please notice the change of date for this event!
On October 6th, Friday, the Native American Development Center (NADC) will be hosting a free event, open to the public, to honor the City of Bismarck's Inaugural First Nations Day at the ND Heritage Center Auditorium. The theme is called, "Justice for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women Across the U.S and Canada.".

The purpose of this event is to bring awareness about unreported missing and murdered Indigenous women throughout the U.S. and Canada. There will be a keynote speaker (tba) and other local advocates of human trafficking and domestic violence. There will be a candlelight vigil for all murdered and missing Indigenous women.

Last year, Lorraine Davis, Advisor to the Bismarck Mayor for Native American Issues, propos...ed a Proclamation for a First Nations Day to the City of Bismarck. This proclamation was passed by a resolution and adopted as October 7th. Since it falls on a Saturday this year and with the support of the City of Bismarck, NADC will celebrate the event on Friday, October 6th, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., at the ND Heritage Center Auditorium.
