Description

First Monday workshops (January - December 2019) will be held at the J. Marion Sims Foundation on the 1st Monday afternoon of the month. Topics for each workshop are listed below. Some of the workshops dates do not have topics scheduled at this time, as those are still to be determined for some of those dates. Additionally,outside speakers are encouraged.

The goal of First Monday workshops is to offer collaborative/interactive learning opportunities that focus on organizational principles that can strengthen their systems and service delivery (ex. governance, planning/evaluation, active listening, group facilitation, fundraising, storytelling, volunteer engagement, social media).

First Monday Workshop Dates:

The workshop on Latino Community Outreach, Engagement, and Cultural Competency will be re-scheduled for a future date.

*** Monday, October 7th - 2:30 - 4:00 pm - NEW COMMUNICATIONS TOPIC JUST ANNOUNCED!! - Framing Your Message & Communicating Your Purpose for Impact & Action ***

Consistent framing of your organization’s messages can help you raise awareness for your mission and gain support for your work. Join us in an interactive skills-building and practice session that will help you develop a message frame that gets the right message to the right people in the right way. You'll learn the basics of effective communication and be able to apply your skills in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Monday, November 4th - 2:30 - 4:00 pm - FUN-raising: It's More than Money!

Come to learn and share ideas that bring in “more” to your organization. More fun, more volunteers, more awareness, and maybe even more money.

Monday, December 9th (DATE CHANGE due to Thanksgiving Holiday) - 2:30 - 4:00 pm - Moving the Needle: Community Building with Partners

Come join us on Monday, December 9 to explore the use of Community Indicators and partnerships to shape your work. We will explore how data, community engagement, multi-sector partnerships and coalitions can help move the needle for our community.
