We would like to invite you to our 15th Annual First Light Celebration Gala and Awards Ceremony.
Since its creation in 1977, the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT) has helped more than 22,000 torture survivors move from victimhood to empowerment. CCVT supports survivors in the process of successful integration into Canadian society, works for their protection and integrity, and raises awareness of the impact of torture and war on survivors and their families.
Every year we invite our supporters, staff, volunteers and community members to come together for an evening to celebrate the survivors we work with, and their triumph over torture and war.
Our 350 guests include medical and legal professionals, business and political leaders, and generous supporters of CCVT. They enjoy a night of dining and entertainment, a silent/live auction, and inspiring talks from our keynote speakers and survivors of torture and war. On this night, we stand in solidarity with people who have dedicated their lives to human rights and social justice, and acknowledge their contribution.
Your support will contribute to our efforts to provide survivors of torture and war with advocacy, counselling, language and skills training, and the social and medical assistance they need to integrate fully into Canadian society. Together we can restore hope to families, children and youth.
Individual tickets and full tables are now available for purchase, and will sell out quickly, so please buy soon and tell your friends and colleagues. Tickets are $125 each ($60 tax receipt) and $1,000 ($350 tax receipt) for a table of 10. Tickets can be purchased online, or you can contact us at 416-363-1066, ext. 225 or ext. 222.
We thank you for your generosity and ongoing support.
