Intended Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Chaplains, Social Workers, Clergy, Faith Community Leaders, Medical and Professional Students

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify potential bioethics issues when providing care to Muslim patients, particularly related to end-of-life treatment, organ donation, and pediatrics

  • Develop better culturally competent communication strategies when approaching families regarding issues in bioethics

  • Evaluate and interpret Islamic Bioethics in comparison to Secular, Catholic, Christian, and Jewish bioethics
