Event description

Description

Join us for our popular monthly social gathering, with live music, signature drinks, and an opportunity to network with others in the Schomburg community. In November, we’re celebrating the rich sounds of Afro-Beat music, created by Fela Ransome Kuti!

Our host for the night will be Liz the Intl Diva, with DJ Birane & DJ Young Kofi spinning Afro Beat tracks in our Langston Hughes Lobby. We will also have a musical performance from Teemanay aka Young Icon, one of New York finest AfroBeats artists, who will perform songs from his debut EP, also featuring Taiyel from Demgully Ent.

First Fridays guests are invited to sign up for a Schomburg Society membership, and visit the Schomburg Shop—while networking and dancing the night away! With our extended hours, guests are also invited to check out our exhibitions A Ballad For Harlem , A LABOR OF LOVE: The Art Collection of Dr. Constance E. Clayton and Femmetography: The Gaze Shifted.
