Event Details

Winnebago County Illinois, along with Freedom Field Renewable Energy, The Illinois Renewable Energy Association, and Rock Valley College are presenting the First Annual Renewable Energy Expo to the Rockford region.

As the main event we will be awarding certificates of recognition to 30 organizations that have provided Leadership by Example in various categories.

Please join us in celebration, learning, and networking, and to hear many important messages concerning our near future from three very knowledgeable speakers deeply involved in policy making in the State of Illinois as well as outside of the region.

Learn about renewable energy practices, technology options, funding, and network with industry experts and local business people to gain a better undertstanding of how renewable energy practices can be applied in real world applications.

Subjects covered and information given will be on varied subjects from people who have implemented projects and practices in Transportation, Utility Scale Generation, Building Intergration and Controls Technologies, Green Roofs, Large and Small Scale Solar PV and Solar Heating/Cooling, Wind, Manufacturing, Waste to Energy, and Recycling/Repurposing.

This is a small event, with a limit of 200 participants that is part symposium and part people networking, but purposed toward deep information exchanges. Policy and market adoption barriers will be a major discussion subjects. This event is for active practitoners focused on learning and information sharing.

The main event will be the recognition awards based on Leadership by Example.

The Recognition Awards will be announced by Winnebago County Board Chairman Scott Christiansen at a special press conference in October.

Please attend our November 8, 2013 event as we hope to have most of the awardees present where you can ask questions and hopefully be motivated to duplicate thier successes, and also to get tips on how to get your project on the fast track.
