First Annual Teaching and Learning Innovation in STEAM (TALIS) Day

Description
The first annual Teaching and Learning Innovation in STEAM will feature special guest speakers and presentations by faculty and teaching assistants on the innovative teaching methods used to engage students in learning.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Derek Lidow, James Wei Professor of Entrepreneurship at Princeton University. We will also have a fireside chat with Provost Duerk as well as a special presentation on emotions, mental health and academic achievement.
This event will also be filled with rapid presentations by faculty and teaching assistants focusing on innovation in teaching and learning. Prizes will be awarded to the most innovative faculty and teaching assistant from the College of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences. Our detailed agenda is as follows:
8:45 - 9:15am - Light Breakfast
9:15 - 9:30am - Welcome by Dean, College of Engineering, Jean-Pierre Bardet and Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, Leonidas Bachas
9:30 - 10:30am - Keynote speaker - Dr. Derek Lidow, James Wei Professor of Entrepreneurship at Princeton University
10:30 - 10:45am - Break
10:45 - 12:30pm - College of Engineering and College of Arts and Sciecnes Faculty and Teaching Assistant presentations

1:30 - 2:15 pm - Fireside chat with UM Provost Jeffrey Duerk and Student Council Presidents of the College of Engineering and College of Arts and Sciences
