Event description

Description

At 1609 Cecil B. Moore Ave in Philadelphia stands the last UNIA-ACL owned building in the continental United States. As such it is the International headquarters for the global organization. In 1997 the building suffered a fire that crippled the third floor and severely damaged the second. At the time many of the members of the UNIA here in Philadelphia were senior citizens making the arrangements and affordability of repairs a huge challenge.

This 1st Annual "Preserve Liberty Hall" formal gathering is a collective community endeavor to ensure that this historic landmark be restored to it's original glory. Hosted at the indispensible African-American History Museum, supporters are guaranteed to be inspired, entertained, and appreciated. Please join us for a night of fun, fellowship, history, and hope!
