Court Appointed Special Advocates of North Sand Mountain provides abused, neglected or abandoned children with a highly trained volunteer to advocate for the child’s best interest before family courts in the counties of Jackson and Dekalb in the State of Alabama. Our volunteers are recruited, screened and trained by paid staff. Our staff and volunteers will then work in conjunction with the judges, lawyers, and social workers to help ensure children receive appropriate care and support while navigating the court, child welfare, and foster care systems.

CASA of North Sand Mountain advocated for 211 children in 2021 in Jackson and Dekalb County. Two months into 2022 the program is already advocating for 89 children in the court system.

CASA of North Sand Moutain is a nonprofit organization and relies on grants and donations to operate.

We are planning for a night of music, food, and fellowship. The children that CASA advocates for are donating artwork for an auction during the Gala. They are very excited to see everyone bidding on their artwork.
