An enjoyable and practical course which explores the role of the first Aider, how to assess an incident and how to deal with common injuries such as sprains and strains as well as what to do in the event of something more serious occurring.
The workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the group but some areas covered will include:
Responsibilities and Reporting
Assessment of the situation
Basic Hygiene and First Aid
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Action at an Emergency
Principles of Resuscitation
Breathing and Circulation
Disorders of Circulation
Shock and Seizures
To have the basic knowledge and practical skills to deal with First Aid requirements of colleagues and other people in the workplace / club environment. The minimum age to attend this course is 16 years of age and the qualification is valid for 3 years.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from NUCO at the end of the workshop.
