Curious about how to target NJSS while infusing reading, writing and language in your lessons? Discover how the natural world sparks inquiry, imagination and captures your students' curiosity.

Participants will engage in activities designed to inspire learning science concepts through story. Workshop members will leave armed with book titles, lesson ideas, teaching strategies and cross curricular extensions to use immediately in K-8 classrooms.

The over 1000 acres of public access property at Duke Farms will provide a glorious backdrop revealing plush evergreens contrasted to the stark beauty of the leafless deciduous woods and winter meadows. Learn how the resources of Duke Farms can readily extend into your classrooms and homes inspiring informed sustainable practices.

While intended for classroom teachers, we encourage all literature lovers and life-long learners to attend.

After the workshop from 1:45 to 2:45, an extra treat…
For those also seeking a little respite from the weather, join us for an exhilarating 10-minute walk to Duke Farm's renowned Orchid Range. Prepare yourself for the sensory overload of captivating beauty, wafting fragrance, and warmth. This is a spectacular greenhouse, not to be missed!

Join us as we create a community of scientific bibliophiles!

Professional Development Certificates will be provided to those who need them for their districts.

Meals included.
