Firefall

Join us at the Taylor Observatory for a showing of the full-dome planetarium show FireFall. This 34-minute film covers Earth’s violent history. Impacts from comets and asteroids have mercilessly shaped the Earth’s surface. The ancient barrage continues today, from harmless meteors – those brilliant streaks in the night sky, to mountain-sized boulders wandering perilously close to Earth. Terrifying and majestic, these invaders from space are capable of utter destruction, yet they have delivered life-giving water and most of the organic materials necessary for life.

Following this one-hour presentation, visitors are invited to view the night sky through the observatory’s telescopes (weather permitting).

Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or just curious about the cosmos, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience. This event is open to all Lake County families.

This event will be hosted by Lake County Office of Education's astronomy expert, Angelo Parisi.

• Children under 5 are free
• Adults are $10 each
• Students are $5 each
• Families of 4 or more can register for a discounted price together for $5.
