The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) will be showcasing its research excellence to specially invited innovative and R&D oriented companies at the Faculty Industrial Research Engagement Day (FIRED-Up) on 6th November 2019.

 

Aims

The event will:

  • provide you with cutting-edge insight into leading R&D and new technologies
  • give an overview of the UK funding landscape and funding opportunities available
  • broaden your network and enable you to make meaningful connections
  • highlight the resources, skills and facilities available at QMUL to support your business

Demonstrations of innovative technologies and research poster presentations from our leading academic groups.

  • Bela: a computing platform for creating interactive applications - Spun out from our research from the Centre of Digital Music into a start-up company
  • Molecular modelling and prediction of structural properties of crystalline materials (includes 3D glasses) with Crystal Maker – Successful KTP project developed a new software product
  • Novel flexible self-heating materials with LMK Thermosafe – Award-winning KTP built a new product for an electrically safe self-regulating heating element
  • A 3D exploration of Loggerhead turtle mobility patterns
