Pre-course work required: Must be Fire Officer I certified.

Course Description: The primary audience is the Company Officer preparing to advance to the next level of leadership in a career, volunteer or combination departments. The secondary audience includes responders from the energy industry.

This course will prepare Company officers to function effectively and efficiently with an understanding how their governments operate, and familiar with other agencies that are involved directly or indirectly in the fire protection process. This course will address planning, training, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating these written agreements such as interagency and intergovernmental agreements usually take the form of automatic aid, mutual aid, outside aid, and multiagency and multijurisdictional incident response and cooperation. The course will address evaluating personnel informally on a daily basis and formally on predetermined schedules. Additionally, the subject matter will address how company officers act as change agents within their organization.

All subject assignments and activities are due on their deadline date. Failure to complete the course within the six week period will be an automatic disenrollment and result in non-completion of the course unless otherwise determined by the instructor.
