Description

The Mid-Willamette Officer Development Institute hosts Fire Investigation for Officers and Firefighters.

This course is designed for fire fighters and fire officers who conduct the initial origin and cause determination investigations. It is for both career and volunteer fire service personnel.

In addition to providing a basic framework for conducting the initial origin and cause determination of investigation, students will gain an understanding of the legal authority of the examination, fire patterns, scene preservation and the steps for conducting the examination in accordance with the scientific method.

This class (18F030) fulfills the requirements for NFPA 1021 Fire Officer I, 4.5 Inspection & Investigation.

Instructor Biography:

Jeff has been a member of the Salem Fire Department for over twenty years and holds an Associates Degree from Chemekta Community College. In addition to his degree, Jeff has many certifications and accomplishments, including certification as NFPA Fire Investigator and NFPA Fire Inspector III.
