About the Panelists

Carolyn Woodruff, JD, CPA, CVA

CEO, Woodruff Family Law Group

Carolyn is a preeminent lawyer, family law specialist, a North Carolina Certified Public Accountant, and a Certified Valuation Analyst with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Carolyn is a Director of Blue Ridge Bank, N.A. and Blue Ridge Bankshares (BRBS), where she serves on the FinTech committee. She holds a FinTech certification from Harvard Business School. She holds AICPA badges in Blockchain and Cybersecurity.

As a North Carolina CPA, Carolyn has been a trailblazer in the area of business valuation and is a frequent writer and lecturer on business valuation and federal taxation. She was the first North Carolina female fellow in the distinguished American College of Tax Counsel.

Carolyn is an author with a dynamic YouTube channel, where she frequently provides updates on family law topics, philanthropy, dance and women’s initiatives. Click here to visit.

She is a graduate of Duke University School of Law with High Honors, where she served as Research and Managing Editor of the Duke Law Journal.

Hon. Don Vaughan, Former NC Senator

Donald R. Vaughan & Associates

Don is a Greensboro attorney with over 40 years of experience. He is former Chairman of the Guilford County Delegation to the General Assembly. He teaches State and Local Government at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he is an Adjunct Professor. He is a member of the State Banking Commission.

Don was awarded the 2021 Hall of Fame Award by the N.C. Bar Association in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Greensboro and beyond. He was elected to seven terms as a member of the Greensboro City Council, two of those terms as Mayor Pro Tem. He was elected to two terms in the North Carolina Senate, one as Deputy Leader, where he served from 2008-13.

He received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Don graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Highest Honors in 1974. He received his master’s degree in public administration from American University, and received his law degree from Wake Forest University, where he was a member of The Law Review.

Randy Reynolds, Director

Blue Ridge Bank, N.A.

Randolph N. Reynolds, Jr. (Randy) is Partner of Reynolds Development Company, a private real estate management and development company, which he co- founded in 2001. The company specializes in commercial real estate investing, management, and development.

He is a graduate of the College of William & Mary with a degree in economics. Following graduation, he worked for Marc Rich & Co. in Zug, Switzerland. After spending two years on the LME Metal Trading desk, he accepted a job as a project manager for Reynolds Metals Development Company in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He assisted in the financial restructuring and operational turnaround of Drew Gardens, and ACLF in Clearwater, FL. Next, he ran the Crossroads Park of Commerce in Ft. Pierce, FL, and assisted with various residential projects all around the State of Florida.

In 1998, Randy joined the Bauxite & Alumina Division of Reynolds Metals Company heading up the export sales of Reynolds Chemical and High Purity Alumina products. He handled key Japanese accounts like Sony, Kyocera, and NEC.

He earned a Six Sigma Green Belt status at GE Lighting’s Supplier training program in Cleveland, OH.

Michael Yin, JD

Woodruff Family Law Group

Michael is a family law attorney with Woodruff Family Law Group. His practice areas include general family law and property settlement, and he excels at research and legal writing.

Recently, he wrote a series of articles on virtual currency and discovery related to cryptocurrency during legal proceedings in family law.

Michael is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. He wrote and edited for the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology and served on the Holderness Moot Court Bench. Michael finds his work as a family law attorney both interesting and meaningful.

With a detail-oriented approach, Michael provides a calm aspect in his work for clients that helps to guide his research on property settlements, including those of high net worth divorce cases. Through his experience and expertise, he is able to dive into all aspects of research in family law matters.
