It’s one of the most frequent questions of the digital camera age, “How do I get gallery worthy prints from my digital images?"

The answer just might be closer than you think.

Join award winning fine art photographer, Tim Neumann in an exploration of gallery worthy printing methods, techniques, and tools. Develop a whole new understanding of the end-to-end imaging and printing process, and gain a new level of control over your printed work.

The workshop begins with an examination of the printing process as a whole, and the integral components that must be managed in order to have predictable printed output. Special attention is paid to color management and the process of profiling each of the components in the printing workflow. Students will be shown the benefits of color profiling their working displays, and learn the proper application of paper and printer profiles.

Fine art printing requires a working understanding of the printers, papers, and tools available in the marketplace. The workshop will explore how selections in each of these categories can affect your final output. We will examine paper types and finishes, arming you with the necessary knowledge to make the ideal paper selection for you next printing project. Particular attention is paid to Black & White images, and the ideal tools and techniques for realizing stunning printed output.

With a solid understanding of what is needed to make a gallery worthy print, we will next turn our attention to the process of editing and fine tuning your images for printing. Participants will learn about using the histogram to predict print saturation, sharpening tools for affecting the desired quality of the print, and techniques valuable for quality cropping and resizing of an image. Lastly the workshop will explore a variety of workflow approaches that support delivering the image from your editing / management software to your printer in the best way possible
