Description

Are you ready to take your World War II research to next level and find the answers to your questions? Would you like to learn what records are available, and how to access and analyze them? Are you looking for your soldier’s Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF?) Are you seeking tips on locating photographs, family, and conducting research online? Then this workshop is for you!

Join Jennifer Holik of the World War II Research and Writing Center to explore American World War II military records. There is limited space for this workshop to allow more individual attention to researchers and their questions. Please note, the workshop and handout booklet will be in English.

Date: 28 October 2017

Time: 10:00 – 16:00

Location: Education Room, National Liberation Museum 1944-1945. Wylerbaan 4, 6561 KR Groesbeek, The Netherlands.

The Program:

10:00 Attendees check-in. Coffee, tea, and water will be available in the education room.

10:30 Program 1 Researching World War II Service

11:30 15 minute break

11:45 Program 2 Offline Military Research

12:30 Luxury buffet lunch

14:00 Program 3 The Prisoners, Missing, and the Dead

14:45 15 minute break

15:00 Program 4 Researching Online

15:30 Question and Answer session

16:00 Programs conclude.

Attendees have the option to remain for an additional 30 minute Question and Answer session, or explore the museum on their own.

16:30 Workshop finished.

17:00 Museum closes.

Workshop Includes:

  • Museum admission.

  • Luxury lunch. (The museum website states, Unfortunately we cannot comply with all dietary wishes concerning allergies etc.)

  • Four educational programs.

  • Program handout booklet.

  • Question and Answer session.

    Time to explore the museum at the end of the program.

A limited number of Jennifer’s signed research book, Faces of War: Researching Your Adopted Soldier, will be available for sale the day of the event for € 30.

Would you like to purchase the book prior to the program? An extremely limited number of books are available through the Foundation United Adopters American War Graves (Stichting Verenigde Adoptanten Amerikaanse Oorlogsgraven.) The foundation will donate all proceeds to its The Faces of Margraten tribute at the Netherlands Cemetery.

Registrants can email research questions they would like addressed during the program to Jennifer at info@wwiirwc.com You may bring research materials to the workshop to discuss during the Question and Answer session.

Registrations who wish for a private consultation with Jennifer can contact her at info@wwiirwc.com to arrange a date and time while she is in the Netherlands.

After the program:

Attendees will have the option to download full military files to review at their leisure and expand their knowledge of what was taught in the workshop. These files will be available for a limited period of time and your email address is required to receive a link to the files.
