In times of challenge, let's come together to listen for the healing silence within and around us.
About this event
"Let there be an opening into the quiet that lies beneath the chaos, where you find peace you did not think possible and see what shimmers within the storm." - Jan Richardon
We welcome you to our August gathering as we seek to notice the "quiet beneath the chaos." As always we'll be guided by the natural world, looking to the trees, plants, insects and birds for the wisdom they might offer. And we'll seek to quiet our busy, distracted or anxious minds so that we might sink into the quiet that underlies the clamor. In this space, we'll be better able to see what is shimmering for us.
We'll start at 3:00pm but come a little early to sign in and settle in. After introductions to each other and the theme, we'll move into 30-40 minutes of silence where you'll be invited to walk on your own along the trails through the trees. Of course you may remain seated in silence if you so choose. After your silent walk, we'll come back together to share before we complete our time together.
Please note that we plan to meet at or around the Pavilion which will provide shelter in case of rain. We'll put up signs for you. Watch for an email to everyone registered that will provide more details.
Dress for comfort! Bring your reusable water bottle; your journal, if you choose; and a camp chair to sit in. There is no charge for Church of the Wild; however we will accept donations to pay for the space at Shepherd's Spring so remember to bring cash if you wish to contribute.
Church of the Wild ~ Two Rivers is an always forming community of like-hearted souls, meeting in the midst of and drawing inspiration from the beauty of the living earth. Our intent is to deepen our connection to the Sacred by being more fully present, open and available in each moment. We learn from the earth and trees, the waters and sky, and from all living beings, human and non-human.
You are welcome! We welcome anyone who seeks to deepen their spirituality through time in nature. Whatever your religious tradition, or if you have none, Christian or otherwise, no matter your gender identity or sexual orientation, you are welcome here.
