About this event
Dam removal projects have been accelerating in New Jersey and across the country. Not surprisingly, this type of construction/demolition work can require a lot of specialized equipment and skills. Join us as American Rivers leads this SDRP Information Session on how to find – or become – an ideal contractor for a dam removal project.
For more than 20 years, American Rivers has led a national effort to restore rivers and improve community safety through dam removal. They have directly assisted in the design and/or implementation of hundreds of dam removal projects nationwide and are growing their floodplain restoration work.
To facilitate this work, American Rivers seeks qualified vendors to provide design and construction services through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) approximately every three years. They establish Master Service Agreements (MSA) with selected vendors based on their response to this RFQ and maintain this list to contract for restoration services on their own projects and share with other non-profit organizations, state and local governments and others who request it.
