Event description

Description

This two-hour workshop is specially designed for mothers, grandmothers, and birth attendants to explore the power of our birth stories, especially difficult or surprising ones. Through a nuanced and compassionate lens, we will journey through the emergence and transformation of birth stories and how they impact our life, our work, our parenting, and our sense of self. The intention is to support wholeness and healing by reducing shame, judgment, guilt, confusion, blame, and anger around birth and postnatal experiences. It's particularly appropriate for mothers who are looking for emotional support and healing after a difficult birth, especially if they are pregnant again. *Space is limited so register soon to reserve your spot*

Workshop includes presentation and discussion, as well as experiential activities such as journaling, drawing, and movement. Tea and light snacks will be served. *Note: this is the first part of a two-part workshop that continues in the afternoon. The afternoon session is designed for birth professionals (new and experienced) to hone their understanding and professional skills in supporting families who have had difficult births. If you wish to register for the full day (including this morning session), please register here: https://emergingbirthstoriesnz.eventbrite.com/

Space is limited, so register soon to save your spot! Early registration price: NZ$49 (pay in full by May 1); regular price: NZ$65 (May 2- May 16); late registration/door price): $80 (if space available).
