————————-

Award-winning comedian Danish Anwar is probably the only Russian-born Indo-Bengali-Canadian standup comic you’ll see this year. His clever blend of politics & nerd culture landed him multiple appearances on national TV & radio, such as CBC comedy specials “Fish Out Of Water” and “Truth Bomb” and the hugely popular CBC Radio show The Debaters, along with comedy festivals such as Just For Laughs Toronto (JFL42) and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. He was one of the primary subjects in the acclaimed TVO documentary “Stand Up Toronto” which delved into the experiences of comedians of colour in Canada, and has opened for renowned comedians like Gina Yashere, Aparna Nancherla & DeAnne Smith.

Akil Young is a striving young artist. At 16, Akil competes in spoken word competitions and has various slams and events under his belt. Having won Louder Than A Bomb, Akil has also performed at Unity Festival 2017, and has his works published on AfroPunk blogs. To continue his artistry, Akil has branched into recording music, and visual direction to match poems and music. This is only the beginning of Akil's large growth as an artist.

J. Scott Cowan has worked as a criminal defence lawyer and part time marine patroller. He has been ranked "the second best comedian in this bathroom” by some guy once, probably. He likes to poke fun at: 1) abuses of power, 2), hypocrisy, 3) himself, and 4) his mom.
He has been performing stand-up for 7 years, has his own TV show on local cable channel 1, and writes the humour column in the criminal lawyers' mag, "For the Defence."

Kristin Dorsey lives to share her voice and her passion for raising awareness and funds for those in need. Supported by the awesome musicians from NOVAYA, her aim is to move you, make you smile and give you that feeling of coming home. Having begun her life and career in California, she brings varied influences from ska, sunny pop, West Coast grunge to Broadway, classical and opera.

Kristin isn't just a part of the lineup, she is the co-creator of Finding Home. She decided in December, as a big milestone birthday loomed ahead of her, to do something meaningful. Calculating how many minutes she will have lived by the day of her birthday, she decided to set an audacious goal. Having lived about 21 million minutes, she plans to raise 21 thousand dollars for worthy causes by the end of 2018.

Moskitto Bar started with the connexion of three talented artist playing in the woods at OM Gathering, Ontario while the moskittos were feeding on them...and after a month of jamming and playing together, the connexion was only stronger.
